One of the most talked about projects of this year’s SDFF, Wolves of Savin Hill is a crime-thriller starring David Cooley, Tonya Cornelisse, Kurt Fuller (Supernatural), Jack McGee (Rescue Me) and Michael Massee (Se7en). It premiered on Saturday at the festival.
The Chris Brinker award, named after the late producer and filmmaker (best known for producing the cult hit The Boondock Saints), recognizes gifted first time feature filmmaker’s who have been accepted into the festival.
“It was an absolute surprise”, said Hill, of winning the award. “The reaction of the cast members in attendance made it more meaningful.”
“Perseverance and hard work always pays off”, he adds. “This is a very special award, it is named in honor of a very special talented filmmaker, Chris Brinker.”
Bostonian Hill is a graduate of Syracuse University and attended The University of Wisconsin, Madison as well as National Theater Institute in Waterford, Connecticut. Before making a name for himself as a filmmaker, Hill was an accomplished gymnast at Syracuse University where he was the recipient of the Phi Epsilon Kappa Award for most outstanding student athlete and was also the featured gymnast in the 1992 Olympic Games closing ceremonies in Barcelona, Spain.
The Wolves of Savin Hill is a tale of betrayal, madness and revenge, where the line between good and evil is as thin as the thread that connects us all.
